What Is Bitcoin And Why Should I Care? (FAQ)

"Bitcoin is a very exciting development, it might lead to a world currency. I think over the next decade it will grow to become one of the most important ways to pay for things and transfer assets.” – Kim Dotcom (CEO of MegaUpload)

“We have elected to put our money and faith in a mathematical framework that is free of politics and human error.” – Tyler Winklevoss (Co-inventor of Facebook)

What is Bitcoin And Why Should I Care?

I get this question from students and subscribers all the time. And really, it can be kind of a difficult thing to explain if you don’t have a solid foundation as to what cryptocurrencies and blockchain networks are in the first place.

So in today’s video, I’m having a sort of “frequently asked questions” conversation with my good buddy Jordan over at “CarpenterB.com” and we’re going to unpack a very common type of conversation that I have with students and subscribers.

Here are some of the questions we’ll cover rapid fire and we’ll get into more detail as we unpack the discussion:

  1. What is Bitcoin?
  2. Who can use Bitcoin?
  3. Where can it be used?
  4. Is Bitcoin for illegal activities?
  5. Who gives Bitcoin its value?
  6. Why was Bitcoin invented?
  7. Is Bitcoin a Ponzi scheme?
  8. How can I safely buy and hold Bitcoin?

The aim of this discussion will be to have you walk away with a much better understanding of 1) what Bitcoin is, 2) what it does and 3) how you can safely, buy, transfer and store it.
